Directions To Use
Preparation:
- Remove the Luer cap from the 3ml syringe containing Prime Dental Retra Gel, and attach the working tip securely.
- Verify that the gel flows smoothly by briefly expressing a small amount onto a sterile surface.
Application:
- With a firm palm grasp, slowly express the gel onto the bleeding tissue.
- Gently rub the gel around the entire perimeter of the preparation to effectively control bleeding.
- Ensure the gel remains in contact with the tissue for 1–3 minutes to achieve optimal hemostasis.
Hemostasis:
- Following application, use a firm air/water spray to cleanse the preparation area and confirm that bleeding has stopped.
- If bleeding continues, repeat the gel application process until a stable hemostasis is achieved.
Sulcus Packing:
- For enhanced tissue displacement and hemostasis, pack Prime-Cord into the sulcus.
- For best results, pre-soak the cord in Retra Gel from a dappen dish before packing it into place.
Waiting and Removal:
- Allow the packed area to remain undisturbed for 1–3 minutes.
- After this period, carefully remove the cord from the sulcus.
Rinsing and Impression Making:
- Rinse the area thoroughly with a firm air/water spray to ensure all residual gel is removed and hemostasis is maintained.
- Once the area is clean and dry, proceed with making the impression.
Safety Precautions:
- Avoid ingestion of the gel.
- Keep Prime Dental Retra Gel away from direct heat and sunlight, and store it out of reach of children.
