Product Details

Prime Dental Restorite Cavo Surface Sealer (Restorite CSS) is a cutting-edge, light-cured, unfilled methacrylate-based resin designed to form an ultra-thin protective layer while minimizing the oxygen inhibition layer. Specifically developed for composite restorations, Restorite CSS effectively penetrates and seals microscopic cracks and surface porosities, ensuring enhanced marginal integrity and long-lasting durability.

During finishing and polishing, composite restorations often develop microscopic surface defects, which can accelerate wear and lead to premature material loss. By applying Restorite CSS at the time of restoration placement and as an annual maintenance protocol, clinicians can significantly improve the longevity of composite restorations, preventing structural breakdown and enhancing esthetic stability.

Indications:

  • Sealing Cracks & Surface Porosity: Effectively penetrates and seals microscopic defects in composite restorations.
  • Enhanced Marginal Integrity: Reduces composite wear by reinforcing the restoration at placement and during routine maintenance.
  • Prolonged Restoration Life: Helps prevent premature material loss, ensuring long-term stability and improved patient outcomes.

Features

Advanced Resin Formula – Made with a specialized unfilled resin that enhances the longevity of restorations.

Light-Curable Technology – Uses a curing light for a quick and controlled setting process.

Ultra-Thin Film Formation – Creates a thin protective layer without adding bulk to the restoration.

Seals Microscopic Cracks & Gaps – Fills surface imperfections in composite restorations for better durability.

Enhances Marginal Strength – Strengthens the bond between the restoration and the tooth, reducing the risk of breakdown.

Protects Against Wear & Tear – Reduces surface loss caused by finishing and polishing procedures.

Long-Term Maintenance Solution – Can be reapplied annually to maintain the integrity of the restoration.

User-Friendly Application – Designed for easy and efficient use in dental procedures.

Directions To Use

General Application:

  1. Dispense a small drop of Restorite CSS onto a glass slab, plastic-coated mixing pad, or mixing well.
  2. Using a brush tip, apply a thin and even layer over the restoration or tooth surface.
  3. If layering composite material, follow proper placement techniques, including incremental layering, to enhance adhesion. (Prime Dental offers a range of Restorite composites in Flowable, Micro-Hybrid, and Nano-Hybrid varieties.)
  4. When sealing an existing restoration, follow the steps outlined under “New Restorations” to ensure proper coverage.
  5. For sealing composite or glass ionomer restorations, etch, rinse, and dry the surface before applying an even layer of Restorite CSS. Cure for 20 seconds using a dental curing light.

Precautions:

  • Remove any excess resin in interproximal and subgingival areas to prevent unintended bonding.
  • Ensure adjacent restorations do not accidentally bond together.
  • Maintain a dry, isolated work field to optimize bonding effectiveness.
  • Use only clean, oil-free, and moisture-free air when drying after etching.
  • Some individuals may experience allergic reactions. In case of irritation or sensitivity, wash the exposed area thoroughly and seek medical advice if needed.

Application for New Restorations:

  1. Shape and polish the composite restoration to the desired texture using Prime Dental’s Aster Compo. Ensure occlusion is properly adjusted.
  2. Isolate the tooth or teeth being treated.
  3. Thoroughly clean the restoration. For optimal bonding, etch all composite surfaces and adjacent enamel for 20 seconds using an etching gel (such as Prime Dental’s Restorite Etching Gel). Rinse and dry completely.
  4. Apply a thin layer of Restorite CSS to the composite and adjacent enamel, rubbing it in for at least 5 seconds. Adjust the brush tip length as needed to ensure even distribution.
  5. Lightly air-thin the layer before curing with a dental curing light for 20 seconds.
  6. Assess and adjust the occlusion if necessary.

Sealing Existing Restorations:

  1. Clean and rinse all surfaces and margins of the restoration using Prime Dental’s Aster Compo.
  2. Etch the composite surface and the surrounding enamel for 20 seconds.
  3. Follow steps 2 through 6 of the “New Restorations” procedure to complete the sealing process.
  4. If the defect is too large for simple sealing, follow the composite repair procedure.

Composite Bonding and Repair:

  1. Clean and rinse the affected composite surface and surrounding margins. If needed, lightly roughen the surface using a high-speed bur (such as Prime Dental’s ACE burs).
  2. Remove any weak or compromised composite material and widen the defect slightly to prevent air entrapment during repair.
  3. Etch the surrounding enamel and all accessible composite surfaces with etching gel for 15 seconds. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
  4. Follow steps 2 through 6 of the “New Restorations” procedure to ensure a strong and durable repair.
