Directions To Use
Preparation:
Begin by thoroughly cleaning and preparing the root canal to ensure it is free from debris and contaminants. Isolation of the tooth is critical to maintain a dry field before proceeding with the restoration.
Mixing:
Dispense the required amounts of powder and liquid onto the provided mixing pad. Using a metal cement spatula, blend the components in a consistent circular motion until a homogeneous mixture is achieved. The target consistency is reached when the mix can be drawn along the spatula to a distance of approximately ½ inch. (Note: Do not combine this material with eugenol.)
Application:
Once the mixture is prepared, use a paste carrier or bi-directional spiral instruments to fill the canal with the paste. Carefully remove any excess material from the canal using a cotton swab, then seal the canal with cement to ensure a tight closure.
Sealing with Gutta-Percha:
After the canal has been cleaned and prepared, choose an appropriate master gutta-percha cone. Fill the canal with the mixed paste using the same delivery method, then insert the master cone until you feel a definitive tug-back, which confirms proper seating and adaptation.
Setting Times:
- Working Time: The material remains workable for 15 minutes.
- Initial Setting Time: Begins to set in 30 minutes.
- Final Setting Time: Achieves complete setting within 6 hours.
Accelerator (Optional):
For scenarios that require faster setting, an accelerator is included with the kit to expedite the process.
Removal (If Needed):
Should it become necessary to remove the set material, use RC Solve—a specialized gutta-percha and zinc oxide eugenol solvent—along with a Gates drill to efficiently extract the material.
Storage:
After use, ensure the bottle is tightly closed. Store the entire kit in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat to preserve its properties.
