Product Details

Prime Dental Prime Chrome Alginate is a high-performance dental impression material, designed to deliver exceptional accuracy, ease of use, and patient comfort. With advanced formulation and chromatic phase indicators, it allows dental professionals to precisely monitor each stage of the setting process, ensuring optimal working time and consistency.

Key Features & Benefits

1. Chromatic Indicators for Easy Monitoring

  • The alginate changes color during different stages of setting, guiding users through mixing, working, and setting times.
  • This feature eliminates guesswork, providing greater accuracy and efficiency in dental procedures.

2. Dust-Free & Hygienic Formulation

  • The low-dust composition reduces airborne particles, ensuring a cleaner workspace and improved operator safety.
  • Minimizes the risk of inhalation-related irritations.

3. Thixotropic Consistency for Smooth Flow

  • The material flows easily into fine details while staying in place without dripping.
  • Ensures precise reproduction of dental structures without excessive material overflow.

4. Enhanced Elasticity & Rubber Effect

  • The rubber-like resilience improves flexibility, making it easier to remove impressions without tearing.
  • Ensures consistent accuracy in complex impressions, reducing the risk of distortions.

5. Easy Mixing for Fast & Efficient Procedures

  • Requires minimal effort to mix, forming a homogeneous and smooth consistency.
  • Reduces chairside time and enhances productivity.

6. Patient-Friendly Lemon Flavor

  • The mild lemon flavor enhances patient comfort, reducing gag reflex sensitivity.
  • Provides a more pleasant experience for patients during impression-taking procedures.

7. Dimensional Stability & Extended Storage

  • Zero-dimensional changes under humidity for up to 50 hours, allowing for delayed pouring without compromising accuracy.
  • Ensures long-lasting impression storage, providing flexibility in laboratory processing.

8. Quick Water Absorption for Rapid Mixing

  • The formula absorbs water quickly, facilitating fast and lump-free mixing.
  • Saves time while maintaining consistent material performance.

9. Temperature-Sensitive for Customized Setting Time

  • The setting time can be influenced by water temperature, providing customization to suit procedural needs.
  • Offers a balance between working time and setting efficiency.

Directions To Use

Mixing Process:

  1. Prepare the Water: Begin by pouring the required amount of water into a clean, dry mixing bowl. The water should be at room temperature for optimal mixing.
  2. Add the Powder: Gradually add the powder to the water while stirring continuously. It is important to add the powder slowly to prevent clumping and to allow the mixture to blend evenly. Use a spatula or mixing tool designed for alginate to facilitate the mixing.
  3. Achieve a Homogeneous Mixture: Continue mixing until the powder is fully incorporated into the water. The final mixture should be smooth, free of lumps, and of uniform consistency, ensuring that it’s ready to be used for making impressions.

Color Indicators:

  • Powder Color: The powder starts as a light yellow color.
  • Mixing Start: As soon as the powder and water are combined, the mixture will transition to a pink hue.
  • End of Mixing: By the end of the mixing process, the mixture should change to a light pink shade. This color change serves as an indicator that the alginate is properly mixed and ready for use.
  • Tray Load Color: Before placing the material in the tray, the mixture will appear yellow.
  • Tray in Mouth: The loaded tray will continue to show a yellow color while it’s placed in the patient’s mouth.
  • Final Set: After the material sets, it should return to its yellow color, indicating it has properly set and is ready for removal.

Timing:

  1. Start the Timer: Start timing immediately after the powder and water are combined. This ensures accurate tracking of the alginate’s working time.
  2. Mixing Time: The mixing process should take no longer than 40 seconds. This is the ideal time for achieving the correct consistency.
  3. Loading the Tray: You have 60 seconds from the start of mixing to load the mixture into the impression tray. Be sure to act quickly to avoid premature setting.
  4. Insert the Tray into the Patient’s Mouth: Insert the loaded tray into the patient’s mouth within 1 minute and 10 seconds. This ensures the material remains workable and flows smoothly into the impression areas.
  5. Final Setting: The final set of the material will take about 2 minutes and 15 seconds from the start of mixing. During this time, ensure the patient is comfortable and hold the tray in place until the material has set completely.

Setting Environment:

  • Effect of Temperature: Be aware that the setting time of alginate is influenced by temperature. Warmer temperatures can accelerate the setting process, while cooler temperatures may slow it down. For consistent results, ensure the procedure is performed in a controlled, stable temperature environment.
  • Optimal Working Conditions: Ideally, the room temperature should be between 20°C and 25°C (68°F and 77°F) for the best working time.

Application:

Prime Chrome Alginate is versatile and suitable for various dental applications, including:

  • Removable Prostheses: Used to create molds for dentures and partial dentures.
  • Study Models: Ideal for creating impressions of the teeth and gums for diagnostic or planning purposes.
  • Antagonist Creation: Useful for making opposing models for occlusion analysis.

Storage:

  • Proper Storage Conditions: Store the alginate powder in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. This ensures the material remains in its optimal condition for future use.
  • Avoid Humidity: Excess moisture can cause the alginate powder to clump, so always store it in a sealed container to avoid exposure to humidity.
