Directions To Use

• Prepare the Surgical Area:
  • Ensure a clean and well-lit environment for the surgery.
  • Position the patient appropriately.
  • Sanitize the surgical site to maintain a sterile field.
• Pre-Sterilization Inspection:
  • Inspect the elevator for any signs of damage or contamination before use.
  • If damage or contamination is observed, refrain from using the instrument and address the issue appropriately.
• Grasp the Elevator:
  • Hold the instrument with a pen-like grip.
  • Ensure a comfortable and controlled grasp for precise and steady movements.
• Incision and Tissue Dissection:
  • Make a small incision at the surgical site.
  • Gently insert the elevator into the incision and position it against the bone for accurate placement.
• Apply Controlled Pressure:
  • Use a pushing action along the bone’s longitudinal axis to elevate and detach the periosteum.
  • Maintain control and exercise caution to minimize trauma to surrounding tissues.
• Repeat as Necessary:
  • Depending on the procedure’s requirements, repeat the periosteal elevation process in different areas of the surgical site as needed.
• Postoperative Care:
  • After completing periosteal elevation, proceed with the remaining surgical steps as planned.
  • Provide the patient with appropriate postoperative care and instructions.
• Sterilization After Use:
  • Thoroughly clean the elevator, removing all tissue and debris.
  • Follow standard sterilization procedures, usually using autoclaving.
  • Ensure the autoclave settings (temperature, pressure, and duration) are correct.
  • Regularly monitor and maintain the autoclave for effective sterilization.
• Storage:
  • Once sterilized, store the GDC Periosteal Elevator in a clean, dry, and designated area.
  • Ensure it is protected from any potential contaminants.
