MI Varnish is a fluoride varnish enriched with RECALDENT™ (CPP-ACP) that enhances enamel’s acid resistance and boosts fluoride levels in saliva. This unique varnish remains on the teeth longer than other fluoride varnishes, releasing high levels of fluoride and calcium into the oral cavity. The key difference is the inclusion of RECALDENT™, which makes MI Varnish a natural and effective choice for patients. Casein phosphopeptides (CPP) are naturally found in milk casein, while Amorphous Calcium Phosphate (ACP), present in RECALDENT™, provides calcium and phosphate. In the oral environment, CPP binds to oral surfaces such as teeth, dentin, mucosa, and biofilm. The calcium and phosphate ions released help build and strengthen healthy teeth.
Composition and Function
MI Varnish contains a 5% sodium fluoride concentration, offering a desensitizing action when applied to tooth surfaces. The varnish leaves a protective film on the teeth and incorporates the beneficial RECALDENT™* (CPP-ACP) technology. This combination promotes the delivery of bioavailable calcium and phosphate ions into the saliva, supporting enamel remineralization.
Indications
- Treatment of hypersensitive teeth.
Contraindications
- Do not use on patients with ulcerative gingivitis or stomatitis.
- Avoid use on patients with a proven or suspected milk protein allergy, as Casein Phosphopeptides are derived from milk casein.

Directions To Use
Directions for Use
Before applying MI Varnish, ensure that the tooth surfaces are cleaned and dried. A prophylaxis is not necessary. Next, peel off the foil lid from the unit dose container of MI Varnish. Using a disposable brush, apply a thin, uniform layer of MI Varnish onto the tooth surfaces. The varnish sets upon contact with water or saliva. It is important to allow MI Varnish to remain undisturbed on the teeth for at least four hours. During this period, instruct patients to avoid consuming hard, hot, or sticky foods, as well as refraining from tooth brushing, flossing, or using products containing alcohol, such as oral rinses and beverages.
