A Strontium-Based Glass Ionomer
All GC Gold Label Glass Ionomer contains strontium glass, which contributes to its excellent radiopacity and snap set characteristics. This formulation is widely favored by clinicians due to its superior performance. Interestingly, strontium mimics calcium in forming strontium hydroxyapatite and strontium fluorapatite, which supports internal remineralization within the tooth structure.
Surface Strengthening Effect
Research has demonstrated that when a strontium-based glass ionomer is placed in a calcium-containing environment, such as saliva, calcium ions diffuse into the surface of the glass ionomer. This results in a surface-strengthening effect. Over time, all GC Gold Label Glass Ionomer formulations continue to strengthen in saliva, improving their durability.
A Consistent, Predictable Seal
After mixing, GC Gold Label Glass Ionomers display a glossy surface, indicating that sufficient free polyacrylic acid is available to initiate the ion exchange process. This allows ions to move between the dentin, enamel, and the GC Glass Ionomer, forming an ion exchange zone that chemically bonds the materials together. The result is a consistent, predictable, and long-lasting seal.
Indications
GC Gold Label Glass Ionomer is ideal for the restoration of Class III and V cavities, erosion lesions, primary teeth, and base or core build-ups.

Specifications
Technical Specifications
Mixing Time: 30 seconds
The product should be mixed thoroughly for 30 seconds to achieve the desired consistency.
Working Time: 2 minutes
After mixing, the working time is 2 minutes, allowing ample time for proper placement and adjustments.
Finishing Time: 15 minutes
Finishing can begin 15 minutes after the start of mixing, providing sufficient time for the material to set.
Directions To Use
After conditioning the tooth surface with GC Dentin Conditioner (10% polyacrylic acid), apply the appropriately mixed Gold Label 2 or Fuji II Capsule into the cavity.
Form the contour and place a matrix if necessary during the working time. Once the material begins to lose its glossy appearance and shows initial set, protect it from moisture using GC Cocoa Butter, GC Fuji Varnish, or GC Fuji Coat LC.
Final finishing can be done under a water spray 15 minutes after the start of mixing. After finishing, apply a protective coat of GC Fuji Varnish or GC Fuji Coat LC. Alternatively, applying a final coat of G-Coat PLUS can enhance wear resistance.
