Preparation:

• Begin by thoroughly cleaning and preparing the root canal; ensure it is free of debris and properly isolated to create an optimal, dry environment for treatment.

2. Safety Warning:

• Do not mix Citra Wash with sodium hypochlorite without first performing a complete rinse with clean, bacteria-free water. This step is critical to prevent the formation of hazardous chlorine gas.

3. Application:

• Insert the applicator tip loosely into the canal, ensuring it stops at least 2 mm short of the apex.
• Gently dispense the solution into the canal and use light agitation to promote even distribution along the canal walls and to help dissolve any residual calcium hydroxide.
• Avoid forcing the solution when the tip is fully extended or when it fits too tightly within the canal.

4. Dwell Time:

• Allow the solution to remain in the canal for at least 3 minutes if the goal is to remove the smear layer, ensuring thorough cleaning.

5. Rinsing:

• After the dwell period, flush the canal thoroughly with clean, bacteria-free water.
• Follow this with ample irrigation using sodium hypochlorite to further cleanse the canal.

6. Final Rinse:

• Complete the procedure by performing a final rinse with either clean water, plain EDTA, or a local anesthetic solution as per your clinical protocol.

7. Completion:

• Confirm that the canal is completely clean and free of any residual solution before proceeding with obturation.

Precautions:

• Always use a rubber dam to ensure proper isolation.
• Avoid ingestion of the solution and prevent it from contacting eyes or soft tissues for extended periods.
• Ensure the applicator tip never extends past the root apex, and do not express Citra Wash beyond the apex.
• Do not use this product on patients with known sensitivities to citric acid.
